Nimble NCM auf ESXi 7 installieren oder aktualisieren

MPIO erfordert den Nimble Connection Manager for vSphere, also ein Stückchen Software auf dem ESXi Host.

Note To properly install NCM, two reboots of ESXi are required. The two reboots are necessary to enable the CompareLUNNumber advanced setting of NCM to take effect on all existing storage devices.

Online Update

esxcli software component apply -d https://update.nimblestorage.com/esx7.0/ncm

Offline Update

• Herunterladen des aktuellen NCM im Infosight Portal (hier muss ein entsprechendes System mit Support hinterlegt sein)
• Kopieren des Zip-Files auf den ESXi Host (SCP, WinSCP o.ä.)
• Darauf achten, den absoluten Pfad anzugeben, auch wenn man sich bereits ins Verzeichnis gehangelt hat!

Schaut man sich die MPIO Pfade auf dem „Speichergerät“, im vSphere Webclient an, sollte das so aussehen:
